One of my good friends is working on opening Tasty Beverages, a unique beer store and bar in Raleigh, and I've been asked to help out with the branding. Here's a healthy handful of type sketches for part of the logo.
A Letter A Day is a personal project designed and maintained by Jaime Van Wart, full-time software designer by day and renegade typographer by night. The goal of the project is to increase production and generation of formal ideas and to ultimately create fully resolved original typefaces by gathering feedback and criticism from the design community. Jaime can be contacted at sauce@ketchup-mustard.com. Rules of the Game
1. Minimum of one character must be drawn every day. Posts can occur after the date of the drawing, but each day must be represented by at least one post.
2. Characters include letters, numerals, punctuation, and decorative elements.
3. Quality of renderings may range from rough sketches to formal vector drawings.
4. Posts may include single characters, words, headlines, and logotypes or word marks.
5. Drawings may build on previous entries (different characters within a single alphabet or formal idea), but each post must represent a new idea (revisions to existing ideas are excluded).
6. Inspiration may be posted where relevant and available.
#6 most definitely. I'd buy lots of beer from a store with that branding.
